Ainara LeGardon (Bilbao, 1976) is a vocalist, guitarist and self-managed artist with more than 25 years’ experience. She has a prolific body of work in rock, improvisation and experimental music, both solo and as part of various collectives. In parallel, she works extensively as a researcher and disseminator in the field of cultural management and intellectual property. She has published various articles, and along with David García Aristegui is co-author of the essay SGAE: el monopolio en decadencia (SGAE: The Monopoly in Decline) (consonni, 2017). She currently collaborates with various dance and theatre companies to perform the live soundtrack for stage shows. Her latest record, Ainara LeGardon (2017), is the result of a composition and production process carried out in the recording studio together with the musician and producer Xabier Erkizia. Their collaboration has captured the confluence of the different musical facets explored by Ainara, from the rawest rock to improvisation and sound experimentation.
