Ferran Burguillos serves as the manager of the Barcelona Library Consortium, the network of the city’s municipal public libraries. A specialist in strategic planning, library service management and governance, he has promoted projects focused on digital transformation, institutional cooperation and community engagement. Previously, he was responsible for the Sabadell Municipal Libraries network and director of the library of the Ateneu Barcelonès.
His experience combines public management with university teaching in library and information science, as well as in knowledge organization, and participation in international library development programmes. His work focuses on collaborative governance and on designing institutional models capable of strengthening the public value of libraries as drivers of social cohesion, education, culture, knowledge and citizenship.

A passionate reader of contemporary literature and poetry, he created PoetasYz, a project aimed at bringing the most recent Spanish poetry closer to librarians and other professionals involved in reading.
