Hugo Saliente Gil (Teruel, 2003) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice operates within an expanded territory between painting and other contemporary forms. Building on a background in figurative art and the study of the Old Masters, his work has evolved into research centred on materiality, process and the instability of the image.
\n\nIn recent years, his practice has undergone a process of displacement or “deterritorialisation”, incorporating approaches to installation, sculpture and sound. This condition is further reinforced by his activity in music, as well as his involvement in rural, cultural and environmental revitalisation projects such as a.escamondar, ocre.info and asalto.org, as well as his participation in artist collectives with an international reach such as cane.yo.
\n\nHis current work is oriented towards exploring painting as an expanded field, understood not as a closed object, but as a system undergoing continuous transformation. His practice is articulated through a rhizomatic logic, where processes, materials and influences intertwine to generate open structures without hierarchies or defined boundaries.
