Starting next July, Tabakalera will host an immersive installation created by Oliver Laxe based on the creative and sensory universe of Sirāt, one of the most celebrated films in recent contemporary cinema (Grand Prix at Cannes, 2025; six accolades at the 2026 Goya Awards; two nominations for the 2026 Academy Awards).
\n\nOriginally conceived for the Reina Sofía Museum, the installation HU/هُوَ. Bailad como si nadie os viera (“Dance as if no one were watching you”) will be one of the highlights of Tabakalera's summer programming. Oliver Laxe himself will attend the opening, an event that will also include representatives from the Reina Sofía Museum: Julia Morandeira, Director of Studies, and Chema González, Head of Film and New Media — both members of the curatorial team that shaped the exhibition at the Madrid art gallery.
\n\nThe arrival of this installation, presented in collaboration with the San Sebastian Film Festival, highlights the harmony between both institutions regarding projects that explore new forms of relationship between the visual arts, film, and experimentation. At the same time, the exhibition is part of the work carried out by the Tabakalera International Centre of Contemporary Culture to promote dialogue between different disciplines, support artists and creators in the development of their artistic practices, and bring contemporary art in all its expressions closer to the public.
