There are forms of writing that seek to open a bond. A letter initiates an intimate gesture that is exposed: someone writes for another, but also for what is no longer there. For centuries, epistolary fragments have been both refuge and archive—spaces where ways of speaking about love, friendship, family, or militancy are rehearsed. Cinema, too, has managed to capture this power, turning correspondence into a narrative resource capable of opening zones of intimacy and revealing other ways of inhabiting the world.
\n\nBuilding from this, in this workshop we will explore epistolary writing as a territory of memory, affection, and reconstruction. Over the course of three sessions, we will watch films and read letters that allow us to imagine new possible dialogues: responses that never arrived, words left suspended, bonds that persist across the distance.
\n\nThe workshop proposes a space for creation and exchange: reading, looking, and writing together. Each participant will develop their own epistolary project -a letter, an audiovisual piece, or an invented correspondence- to finally share that process as a form of collective thinking.

Paloma Navarro Nicoletti (Madrid, 1987) is a journalist and audiovisual curator. She holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from UNSAM in Buenos Aires. She also completed the LAV Master's program in Madrid and the Cinema Program at Torcuato Di Tella University. She has worked as an editor at VICE Media and as a podcast producer and screenwriter at SONORO Media. She contributes as a freelance journalist to media outlets such as Gatopardo, Kamchatka, Coolt, Pikara, and El Salto, among others. She is the director of the Bendita Tú Film Festival and a film programmer for various venues across Spain.

\nEs un músico con proyección internacional, primero con los grupos Kortatu y Negu Gorriak, y después en solitario. Comenzó a producir documentales en 2006. Aquel año fundó la productora musical y cinematográfica TALKA RECORDS & FILMS, y en ella ha trabajado como director, guionista, productor y creador de bandas sonoras originales.
Ha recibido varios reconocimientos: en el Festival Amal de Galicia, al mejor documental, por su obra Checkpoint Rock; en el Festival In-Edit de Barcelona, al mejor documental, por la serie Next Music Station; una mención especial en el Krafta Doc International de Glasgow por el documental NOLA?; el premio a la mejor película de animación en el Festival Internacional de Monterrey, por la película Black is Beltza; y el premio al mejor diseño de sonido en los Premios Quirino de la Animación Iberoamericana, por la película anteriormente mencionada.

She works as an editor, teacher and archivist. From an early age her training was in the field of arts and social sciences. She studied at the Escuela Nacional de Experimentación y Realización Cinematográfica (ENERC), in Buenos Aires, Argentina and more recently at the Elias Querejeta Zine Eskola, in Donostia, Basque Country.
\nAs an editor, she has participated in multiple documentary projects, as well as experimental projects in collaboration with contemporary Argentinean artists.
\nIn 2019 she founded a documentary filmmaking workshop, ‘La Paloma’ in a Penitentiary Unit in the province of Buenos Aires.
\nIn 2024 she carried out a Laboratory of memories and archives, in conjunction with the Malen Etxea Association, in Zumaia, as part of her TFM.
\nShe is also involved in Argentinean film research and preservation projects and is part of the research collective Operación Retorno.
