On 3 August, they will move to Tabakalera, while having previously completed a residency at the Oteiza Museum. The mechanics proposed have been designed to prompt each artist-teacher to offer a unique perspective on these processes. This characteristic means that the programme’s methodology focuses more on the relationships that are forged in the workshop space and on specific practices rather than on theory.
\n\n
The seventh JAI call for proposals received 45 submissions that met the technical requirements. The programme’s study committee, comprising the tutors Itziar Okariz, Alejandro Cesarco and Ibon Aranberri, along with Catalina Lozano, Chief Curator at Artium Museoa, and Oier Etxeberria, Head of Public Programmes at Tabakalera, selected 16 participants based on the quality and interest of the work presented in their portfolios, as well as how well the candidates’ stated objectives aligned with the study programme’s guidelines. The selection process also adhered to parity criteria, resulting in a group that is diverse in terms of the participants’ geographical origins and intergenerational representation, in addition to the plurality of languages and disciplines present in contemporary art practices. The committee also decided to award tuition and living stipends to six participants.
\n\n

"},"path":{"alias":"/seventh-edition-jai-institute-artistic-practices-study-programme-begins","langcode":"en"},"fecha":"2026-07-01","relationships":{"categoria":[],"media":[{"internal":{"type":"media__image"},"relationships":{"imgSrc":{"uri":{"url":"/sites/default/files/2022-03/JAI%202022.PNG"},"sizes":[{"xl":null,"l":null,"m":null,"s":null,"rrss_l":null,"rrss_s":null},{"xl":null,"l":null,"m":null,"s":null,"rrss_l":null,"rrss_s":null},{"xl":"https://cms.tabakalera.eus/sites/default/files/styles/breakpoint_1920/public/2022-03/JAI%202022.PNG?itok=TD5Aczp9","l":null,"m":null,"s":null,"rrss_l":null,"rrss_s":null},{"xl":null,"l":"https://cms.tabakalera.eus/sites/default/files/styles/breakpoint_31360/public/2022-03/JAI%202022.PNG?itok=ure72AX6","m":null,"s":null,"rrss_l":null,"rrss_s":null},{"xl":null,"l":null,"m":null,"s":"https://cms.tabakalera.eus/sites/default/files/styles/breakpoint_376/public/2022-03/JAI%202022.PNG?itok=ElB-Jm1A","rrss_l":null,"rrss_s":null},{"xl":null,"l":null,"m":"https://cms.tabakalera.eus/sites/default/files/styles/breakpoint_769/public/2022-03/JAI%202022.PNG?itok=oKmLBw3I","s":null,"rrss_l":null,"rrss_s":null},{"xl":null,"l":null,"m":null,"s":null,"rrss_l":null,"rrss_s":null},{"xl":null,"l":null,"m":null,"s":null,"rrss_l":null,"rrss_s":null},{"xl":null,"l":null,"m":null,"s":null,"rrss_l":null,"rrss_s":null},{"xl":null,"l":null,"m":null,"s":null,"rrss_l":"https://cms.tabakalera.eus/sites/default/files/styles/thumb_rrss_large/public/2022-03/JAI%202022.PNG?itok=75MR7xoh","rrss_s":null},{"xl":null,"l":null,"m":null,"s":null,"rrss_l":null,"rrss_s":"https://cms.tabakalera.eus/sites/default/files/styles/thumb_rrss_small/public/2022-03/JAI%202022.PNG?itok=sDPhfZtj"}]}},"imgMetas":{"alt":"JAI 2022"}}]}}},"pageContext":{"id":"fe91b0d0-d006-5911-a910-bc430e1b3feb","nodeId":13914,"langcode":"en","nodeMetadata":{"title":"The seventh edition of the JAI institute for artistic practices study programme begins | Tabakalera","description":""},"yesterday":"2026-06-30","today":"2026-07-02"}},"staticQueryHashes":["1409045280","1472977592","1549843337","1600800028","1852898869","2156051761","2684269349","2736526504","3122408510","3305536543","3493939040","3649515864","4040268713","63159454","847920557"]}
