THE TREE OF LIFE –El árbol de la vida– Terrence Malick, EUA, 2011, 133’, OVES

The United States in the 50s. Jack is child living with his siblings and parents. While his mother embodies love and tenderness, his father stands for severity, since he believes this is necessary to teach children how to cope with a hostile world. This training process extends from childhood to adulthood. This is when Jack evokes the transcendent moments of his childhood and tries to understand what influence these had on him and up to what point they determined his life.
