What is Medialab?

Medialab is a Tabakalera service that brings together the Creation Library and the technology and digital culture lab in one space. It has its roots in the fusion of two previous services: Ubik and Hirikilabs. These were once housed in completely different spaces but have now come together in a joint project.

The Medialab platform gives people access to resources (knowledge, technology, spaces, etc.) that support learning, knowledge creation, experimentation, project development and more. It is a tool for those who want to get involved in social innovation processes, without having to be experts.

Medialab is led by people, for people. It does not discriminate based on age, social status, or level of expertise or knowledge. It is a service for empowering people to create, experiment, learn and enjoy. Moreover, Medialab promotes and supports communities and local networks in their role as key elements in creation-based social transformation.
